An open letter to the Church of Satan High Priest and Order of the Trapezoid Grand Master Boyd Rice,
Your statement did not fall upon deaf ears, brother. I read of your bold usurpation (is there another kind?) with great enjoyment. Finally, a worthy successor! I’m sure Anton Szandor LaVey’s memory will rest easier now that you have taken that particular beast by the horns; however, the establishment, Satanic and otherwise, might not be as comfortable with such a transition. This is where I come in.
Things are the way they are because we let them; we believe. And it is our belief which makes things real or unreal. Most people put their belief into whatever seems easiest, beneficial, or logical. A few of us violently shove our beliefs in seemingly warped directions… forcing our will into being. Just as I recognize you, Boyd Rice, High Priest of the Church of Satan, so others might observe my uncanny resemblance in visage and spirit to the father of Satanism himself, Anton Szandor LaVey. In fact, the entire Left Hand Path could see itself as the masters of this world if they but knew it.
Sure, I was cast out of the CoS a few years ago for studying occultism, for practicing black magic, and for daring to believe in something as blasphemously nightmarish as H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos. As it turns out, it was for the best. I landed squarely (trapezoidal?) on my tentacles. Yet, I never let go of my admiration for what LaVey had created… nor could I forget the castration which contemporary Satanism endured under the recently banished regime.
In the interest of solidarity, I offer you my support. From one High Priest to another, let the power and influence of disenchanted madmen flow down the black mountain like streams of Demon God blood.
